The Gods of Arnia Empty
PostSubject: The Gods of Arnia   The Gods of Arnia EmptySat Feb 04, 2012 8:33 am

Ramus - The Sun
God of the Sun, Light, and Life
Alignment: NG
Domains: Sun, Fire, Healing, Good, Community
Tenets:
Paladins:

Sylia - The Moon
Goddess of the Moon, Night, and the Tides
Alignment: NE
Domains: Darkness, Death, Evil, Weather
Tenets:
Paladins:

Zeldriss - The Dragon
God of Dragons
Alignment: LG
Domains: Law, Good, Strength, Glory
Tenets:
Paladins:

Scalis - The Blind Hand of the Law
Goddess of Law, Judgement, and Justice
Alignment: LN
Domains: Law, Nobility, Repose
Tenets: "Judge the Unjust, punish those deserving of it. Uphold the Law of all lands you visit; law is sacred, and must be obeyed. Do away with those you have found guilty, for they must face punishment for their crimes. And suffer not those who would deny a soul their final judgement; to do so is an abomination."
Paladins: A Paladin in the service of Scalis must obey and uphold the laws of any land they visit, even if they're only passing through. They cannot and must not knowingly break the law, and they must attempt to detain and turn over anyone they know to have broken the law. They may execute a law breaker if the situation demands it, or if they know a trial would serve no purpose. They are also permitted to execute anyone they know to be a corruption of the law, such as a corrupt politician or judge. They may not knowingly work with followers of Nevron, and may not allow necromantic spells to be cast in their midst.

Xandrollen - The Protector
God of Protection, Strength and the Downtrodden.
Alignment: NG
Domains: Liberation, Strength, Nobility, Protection
Tenets: "You should never strive to end life, but to protect it. Do not allow your fellow man to be imprisoned unfairly; and if their imprisonment is just, help them to see the error of their ways, so that they may seek redemption, and they, in turn, can protect others. Show quarter to your foes, and do what you must to lift the spirits of the downtrodden."
Paladins: A Paladin in the service of Xandrollen must show their opponents mercy. They will not and must not allow helpless foes to be slain(with obvious exceptions being most undead, eldritch abominations and so on) and must always strive to show evildoers the error of their ways - Xandrollen expects his champions to lift the spirits of their fellow men and women, and to protect others whenever possible - to ignore a cry for help is blasphemous. They may not allow someone to be imprisoned unfairly, or bear witness to an execution, except when the individual has done something that Xandrollen considers to be truly unforgivable, such as the murder of innocents, especially children.

Feywyn - The Mother
Goddess of Love, Fertility, Growth and Nature
Alignment: CG
Domains: Plant, Charm, Earth, Animal
Tenets:
Paladins: Paladins in the service of Feywyn are encouraged to bestow blessings of fertility, growth(for, say, farmers) and attempt to aid lovers in coming together. They are also encouraged to have children and find love of their own. They must also protect these things - they may never take a life unless that life would cause misery and death. They may not knowingly work with Paladins of Nevron, Lithial or Lokas.

Renz - The Trickster
God of Thieves, Freedom, Chaos and Trickery.
Alignment: CN
Domains: Chaos, Liberation, Trickery, Travel
Tenets: "Freedom is sacred, and Chaos is golden. So do what you will; spread chaos, lie, cheat and steal. Entertain me."
Paladins: A Paladin in the service of Renz is in direct opposition to law and lawfulness. They are encouraged to lie, cheat and steal, disrupt the forces of Law wherever and whenever possible, and essentially do as they wish, so long as it doesn't involve being lawful or decidedly evil. They may not knowingly work with an agent of the Law, such as Scalis, Lokas or Zeldriss.

Lithial - The Warrior
God of War, Destruction and Battle
Alignment: CE
Domains: War, Evil, Destruction, Glory
Tenets:
Paladins: A Paladin in service to Lithial must not avoid battle. They are forbidden to parley, negotiate or otherwise attempt to avoid combat where it seems likely. They are also forbidden to allow others to do so in their presence. Paladins of Lithial are also forbidden from fleeing a battle, no matter how likely death seems - a glorious death in battle is the greatest sacrifice that Lithial's champions can make to their God. They are encouraged to start fights, even wars if they can.

Carsus - Master of the Source
God of Magic and the Elements
Alignment: TN
Domains: Magic, Knowledge, Artifice, Rune, Water, Fire, Earth, Air
Tenets: Carsus has no tenets. His existence is known to his clergy because he is the source of all arcane magic.
Paladins: Carsus has no Paladins.

Nevron - The Necromancer
God of Death, Undeath and Disease
Alignment: NE
Domains: Death, Evil, Knowledge, Madness
Tenets: "Everything that is and ever will be will die. In the end, everything - the whole of creation - all of it will be His. We exist to give the process a little nudge. Spread plagues, murder, and raise those you kill in reverence to the God of Death."
Paladins: A Paladin in the service of Nevron exists purely to act as an agent of death and destruction on the mortal coil. His champions are expected to murder, and to spread disease. They are also encouraged to raise those they kill as undead, as well as those who have already passed. Paladins of Nevron are in direct opposition to Scalis and Ramus. They may not knowingly work with agents of Scalis, or Ramus.

Lokas - The Executioner
God of Persecution, Punishment and Execution
Alignment: LE
Domains: Law, Evil, Destruction, Strength
Tenets: "Those who break the laws of Gods and Men must be punished swiftly, and without mercy."
Paladins: A Paladin in service to Lokas must punish anyone that has been found guilty of a crime of any kind. They cannot knowingly or willingly kill an innocent individual, but they cannot knowingly or willingly allow a guilty individual to live once they have committed a crime, no matter how insignificant. They are in direct opposition to Paladins in the service of Xandrollen, and may not knowingly or willingly work alongside them. A Paladin of Lokas that becomes an ex-paladin in any way other than via a curse or other form of forced alignment shift cannot regain their powers - the only way to atone is death.
